Holiday Style Feat. Olia Kedik

I’m so excited to introduce you to the fabulous Olia Kedik, from the fashion blog Oliamoda! She’s the “New Girl” here in Sacramento and I can’t wait for you to get to know her and hear about a fabulous Christmas event that she’s putting on. Olia is such a Wonder Woman; she’s a mom, fashion blogger, personal stylist, and owner of the restaurant Skool with a location here in Sacramento and as well as San Francisco. I’m in awe of this woman! After our fun times hanging out, which always seem to involve drinking wine, it became obvious how she’s accomplished so much– she brings her A game to all that she does! I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know Olia more and I know that you will too.

Can you share a bit about yourself?

I have an entrepreneurial spirit by nature. I am also a mother, wife and business owner. Blessed with a wonderful family and a thriving business, my life is an unfolding adventure. The love of my husband and my daughter keep me going in the most hectic of times. One rule I live by is to always believe in your dreams. You must believe in yourself, visualize your success and stay focused no matter how difficult things get. If you do this, you will always achieve your goal. I came to the United States in 2003 with one suitcase and many dreams. Some things have changed, but my passion and love for beauty and fashion has remained, and I am grateful for all I have in my life.

You’ve lived in some fabulous cities around the world, like London, Munich, and San Francisco, how has global living influenced your personal style?

International living has given me a broad perspective on fashion and style. I look at all fashion styles with an open mind and am able to soak up styles abroad. Fashion on its own doesn’t exist without the people who create it and wear it with pride. I have met people along the way who have inspired my feel for fashion. Urban living and exposure to cities across the globe has also played a large role in the development of my personal style.

What would you say is your signature look?

My love affair with fashion began at an early age. Over time, I have created a style that I believe is unique and true to my personality, which pairs classic style with a modern edge. I continue to draw from my global influences, however being a confident business woman and mother has added all new and wonderful fashion traits, including my short and hawky-do!

Do you have any favorite items in your bag at the moment?

I am such a sucker for new beauty products, so my bag items are almost always rotating. To name a few that are always in my purse is the Sulwhasoo Perfecting cushion, the EOS hand cream, Nars lip gloss and India Hicks English Rose roll on perfume. For a lady on the go these are perfect item for a quick beauty pick-me-up.

What was the inspiration behind starting your blog and the name Oliamoda?

My passion for fashion and entrepreneurial background led to the creation of my fashion blog, Oliamoda, in 2014. It is a way for me to showcase current trends in fresh inspiring ways. The concept of Oliamoda is blending my individual “Olia” look with “Moda” the Latin word for fashion or trend. When combined “Oliamoda” is the essence of my style, blended with current fashion and expressing the joy of sharing that with women around the world. I strive to offer style inspiration and advice to communicate directly with the everyday woman. I believe in women expressing themselves and controlling their destiny. Through fashion, women can express their inner beauty and confidently conquer their goals.

Did you have any misconceptions about blogging before you started that have been debunked, or things that have surprised you about the world of blogging?

I never thought too much about the concept, I started blogging as an extension to my Instagram account where I was sharing my outfits and ideas on how to wear things different. Blogging is way of self expression while inspiring women along the way. I love the support of the blogging community and all the gorgeous women I have met along the way. Ideally I would like to devote a 100% of my time to OliaModa and hope I can accomplish that in the next few years.

What do you enjoy most about having your own blog?

My goal is to inspire and empower women to express themselves and achieve their dreams. I am such a fashionista and consider myself creative thinker in the ways I dress and live. I also enjoy collaboration process with like minded people and brands.
